Job summary

Covenant Living is seeking a Security Guard to protect residents and staff, patrol the campus, secure buildings, and respond to emergencies. The role emphasizes strong communication, safety awareness, and adherence to procedures while supporting on-site security operations.

The ideal candidate will have two years in security, a valid driver’s license, first aid certification, and fluency in English. California candidates may require a security license. Shift differential pay may apply.

Qualifications

• High school education.
• Two years experience in security or other related work.
• Current state driver’s license (CDL preferred) and a good driving record.
• First aid certification and to have experience in emergency medical situations.
• Ability to read and write in English, to communicate with the other employees and residents.
• Good interpersonal skills, project a friendly personality, understand customer service and team building concepts, and have the ability to work with people, especially the elderly.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.
• Good observational skills are required.
• Ability to work under conditions that require flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing conditions.
• For California candidates, must maintain a valid and current California Security License.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency call system.
• Evaluate the need to notify on-call personnel and follow procedures.
• In emergency situations, call 911 and coordinate with responders.
• Check and secure security equipment and complete campus patrols.
• Check and secure all exterior doors in all buildings.
• Be vigilant and challenge trespassers on campus property.
• Monitor all vehicle traffic and enforce traffic policies.
• Familiarize with campus layout, equipment areas, and emergency systems.
• Know utility shut-off locations and HVAC reset procedures.
• Write and distribute reports for all incidents.
• Report safety hazards and file maintenance requests.
• Provide maintenance/housekeeping services as directed during emergencies.
• Provide non-emergency residential security-related services.
