Job summary

Central Ohio Technical College seeks a Security Officer/Dispatcher for weekend shifts at the Newark campus. The role combines dispatch duties with field security to ensure student and staff safety, including emergencies, routine patrols and incident reporting.

Required are a high school diploma, valid Ohio driver’s license, and the ability to pass a background check. Prior security or dispatch experience is preferred; training in CPR/First Aid is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to pass background check and fingerprinting clearance.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to respond quickly to emergencies and climb stairs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and secure environment for students, employees and visitors.
• Coordinate emergency and non-emergency responses in dispatch and field security.
• Monitor campus activity and enforce safety policies.
