Job summary

El Paso Community College is seeking a Security Technician to manage district key control, alarm systems, and access authorization rosters. This role provides essential in-person campus support for students, faculty, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities include monitoring alarm systems, logging malfunctions, issuing keys, coordinating with locksmiths, and dispatching security personnel as needed. Strong customer service and IT skills are required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree and three years of related experience.
• Experience with security alarm and video surveillance systems.
• Experience providing effective customer service.
• Effective telephone etiquette skills.
• Ability to manage and export surveillance footage.
• Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for district key control and district security alarm system control.
• Manage district lost & found control, service/delivery permit control, and dispatching.
• Provide support services to students, faculty, staff and the public on campus.
• Monitor the security alarm system and maintain logs of malfunctions and activations.
• Issue building, office, cabinet, and desk keys; coordinate with locksmith key orders.
• Set up and maintain files; issue temporary parking passes as needed.
• Operate the district radio system and dispatch personnel for incidents.
• Monitor and export video footage from surveillance systems as required.
