Job summary

Seabury, Inc. in Bloomfield, CT is seeking a Campus Safety Supervisor to lead the safety and security of all people and property on campus.

Ideal candidates will deliver outstanding customer service, possess strong communication skills, and show sensitivity to older adults. A valid CT driver’s license is required, with a minimum of 1+ years’ experience in security or public emergency services; management experience is preferred. The role involves flexible shifts and periodic overtime.

Qualifications

• High School diploma.
• CPR/First Aid/AED training or ability to complete such trainings.
• Minimum of 1+ years’ experience in security or public emergency services, management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and schedules all campus safety staff.
• Involved in the creation and implementation of departmental policies and procedures.
• Work variable shifts as needed with overtime and weekends as weather, emergency or staffing situations may require.
• Completes patrols of the building/facility and creates Work Orders for identified issues and security concerns.
• Learn and become proficient in Access control systems to create badges and troubleshoot locks.
• Learn and become proficient in the fire alarm system.
• Learn and become proficient in the Emergency Pendant/Door Flag system.
• Assist in running campus Fire or Disaster Drills.
• Perform general repairs that do not require specialized qualifications.
• Clean and assist with upkeep of storage, records, furniture, and equipment.
• Provide escort to locations within the building or direct emergency personnel to identified doors.
• Complete Monthly Extinguisher and Fire safety checks throughout campus.
• Participate in special projects as needed.
• Oversee Security meal charges.
• Assist the VP of Engineering & COO as needed.
• Assist with development of monthly schedules and staffing for call outs.
• Perform inspections of mechanical rooms and storage spaces.
• Ensure all Incident Reports and First Reports of Injury are submitted correctly and in a timely manner.
• Ensure all staff trainings are up to date and complete.

They are the first to respond to a call for assistance and provide calm and supportive help whenever needed. Ideal candidates will deliver outstanding customer service, have strong communication skills and sensitivity to older adults. Valid CT driver’s license required. Minimum of 1+ years’ experience in security or public emergency services, management experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Supervises and schedules all campus safety staff.
