Job summary

Western Albemarle High School in Crozet, Virginia is seeking a School Security Officer for the 2026-27 school year. The role supports a safe learning environment by supervising student activity, managing the Visitor Management System, monitoring entrances, and responding to emergencies.

You will work 7.25 hours per day across 188 days, assist administrators, participate in drills, and help maintain order and positive relations with students and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor’s degree and safety/security experience preferred.
• Successful completion of School Security Officer certification within 60 days of hire and annual renewal.
• Must obtain CPR/AED and first aid certification within 60 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise student activity in hallways, cafeterias, gym, and exterior areas.
• Manage Visitor Management System; greet and assist visitors.
• Monitor entrances for unauthorized visitors and respond to emergencies.
• Assist administrators and staff in enforcing safety policies and school rules.
