Job summary

Lipscomb University is seeking Per Need Security Patrol Officers to supplement security across three shifts and satellite locations. Officers perform mobile and foot patrols, respond to calls, and act as first responders to keep students, faculty, staff, and guests safe.

Responsibilities include pro-active patrols, safety escorts, building locks/unlocks, incident reporting, and support for events. TN armed guard license preferred; background checks required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in security, law enforcement, military, corrections, or combination.
• Active Tennessee Armed Guard License preferred but not required.
• Understanding of basic communications software and patrol/dispatch procedures preferred.
• Pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pro-active, high visibility patrols on campus and off-site facilities.
• Respond to dispatched calls for service via security dispatch center.
• Provide safety escorts for students, staff, or visitors as needed.
• Perform scheduled locks/unlocks of buildings and rooms across the campus.
• Observe and report suspicious activity; assist with safety and security improvements.
• Enforce parking regulations and coordinate parking closures for events.
• Support events and coordinate with supervisors and directors on security needs.
• Maintain equipment and participate in department training, including de-escalation and active shooter readiness.
