Job summary

Belmont University is seeking an Armed Security Officer to patrol campus, protect property, and respond to emergencies. The role requires trained security operations, excellent communication, and the ability to work across a 24/7 campus environment.

The position offers a shift differential and paid training, with Belmont's Campus Security ensuring safety and a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

• Must be trained in, or have the ability to complete training in, critical incident management including the Incident Command System, the National Incident Management System, and the IPMBA Bicycle Certification Program.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the campus, protect property, and respond to emergencies and requests for assistance.
• Maintain a positive and courteous demeanor; communicate professionally with students, employees and guests.
• Interact with campus community, build rapport, and participate in community relations activities.
• Conduct proactive, high visibility patrols to prevent theft, vandalism, or other offenses and identify safety hazards.
• Respond to incidents as first responder; implement Belmont Emergency Management Plan; liaise with local law enforcement.
• Document incidents and complete reports and forms; enforce campus rules and parking regulations.
• Assist with orientation of new hires and provide security-related trainings.
• Other duties as assigned.
