Job summary

The Hun School of Princeton seeks a full-time Safety and Security Officer to protect campus assets, patrol the forty-five-acre campus, and respond to emergencies. Reporting to the Director of Safety and Security, the role supports a welcoming, secure environment while serving students, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications include one year of public-contact experience, preferred law enforcement/security background, strong communication, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• One year of successful experience in a role with high public contact.
• Law enforcement or security experience in college/university/K-12 preferred.
• Ability to act quickly, efficiently and calmly in stressful situations.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
• Commitment to good judgment, tact, sensitivity, and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Patrol all areas on campus to maintain visibility.
• Observe campus for irregular or unusual activity or hazards.
• Serve as a first responder for campus emergencies.
• Assist with safety, security, crowd control and parking during events.
• Inspect and maintain emergency equipment and conduct drills.
• Report and address safety and security concerns as needed.
