Job summary

Erie Community College seeks a part-time security guard to protect county buildings and property, control access, and assist visitors. The role requires alertness, physical stamina, and the ability to respond to emergencies in line with established policies.

Responsibilities include directing visitors, inspecting packages, and coordinating with law enforcement when necessary. A high school diploma with related security training is required, along with relevant experience or an equivalent

Qualifications

• High school graduate with related training in security.
• One year college study in Criminal Justice or related field preferred.
• Minimum security experience as a watchman/guard.

Responsibilities

• Control access to county buildings and property.
• Maintain order and remove disorderly persons when needed.
• Inspect parcels and monitor entries into buildings.
• Summon authorities for crimes or incidents as required.
• Check time clocks and monitor traffic and parking.
