Note: The standard work schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, but may alternate shifts and holidays as needed. The successful candidate must be able to follow verbal communications and read/write directions, interpret policies and memos, and perform physical tasks exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, 50 lbs. frequently, and 20 lbs. constantly. This role requires constant or frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling, talking, hearing, and depth perception. Personal protective equipment and uniforms are required.

Examples of Duties:

• Patrolling and Call Responses: Provide customer service, information, and assistance.
• Investigations and Reporting: Respond to emergencies, conduct investigations, write reports, document incidents, and work with law enforcement. Maintain logs and ensure compliance with federal Clery Act reporting.
• Enforcement: Control traffic, enforce college rules, challenge trespassers, detain individuals when necessary, assist with crowd control, issue parking tickets, and manage unauthorized or disruptive persons.
• Emergency Responses: Assist with evacuations, provide first aid/CPR/AED, respond to various emergencies, and maintain required certifications.
• Equipment Maintenance and Use: Care for equipment, maintain proficiency with security tools and systems, and complete necessary certifications.
• Campus Security Authority: Report crimes posing ongoing threats.

Required Qualifications:

• Residency: Must reside in Colorado at the time of application.
• Experience: Minimum of two years in security, campus safety, or law enforcement. Part-time experience is pro-rated.
• Education: College coursework in Law Enforcement or related field from an accredited institution may substitute for experience, with transcripts required.

Highly Desirable Skills: Strong communication, ability to work with diverse groups, attention to detail, customer service, and independence.

Special Requirements: Valid driver's license, ability to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification within 60 days, pass background checks, physical, agility, and drug tests, be at least 21 years old, and train in the use of specialized equipment within six months of hire. Felony or related misdemeanor convictions may disqualify applicants.
