Job summary

The University of Baltimore invites applications for the Director of Campus Safety and Emergency Management. This role leads safety and security operations across the UBalt campus, coordinating with the UMB police liaison and managing the emergency management program, including EOPs, compliance, and training for staff and students.

Reporting to the VPAF, the director oversees the Security Ambassador team, policy development, budgeting, and safety communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Five years of progressively responsible related experience, including at least two years in a supervisory capacity.
• Conditional offer requires fingerprinting background check; pre-employment and random drug testing may apply.

Responsibilities

• Serves as campus leader for overall campus safety and security functions.
• Develops and communicates policies related to safety and security; participates in policy coordinators committee.
• Represents safety function at community meetings and town halls; coordinates with UMB Police Liaison on action plans.
• Directs maintenance of automated external defibrillators and oversees safety-related technology systems.
• Chairs the Emergency Operations Team and serves as Incident Commander for campus safety incidents.
