Job summary

The University of Chicago seeks a Community Services Officer to help maintain a safe learning and work environment across campus and school sites. You will partner with the University Police Department on investigations, conduct patrols, and support visitor management while assisting in safety programs.

Essential staff may be required to work extra shifts during emergencies or weather events; a valid driver's license and good driving record are required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree from an accredited college.
• One year of service-oriented public contact experience.
• Prior security and law enforcement experience in a K-12 environment.
• Valid driver's license; good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assists students, faculty, staff and visitors to maintain a safe environment.
• Patrols campuses on foot and inspects for hazards and safety issues.
• Assist with investigations and reporting of incidents with University Police.
• Manage visitor check-in and monitoring after hours.
• Provide safety escort services and information on crime prevention.
• Prepare routine reports and maintain logs as assigned.
