Job summary

S&C Electric Company is seeking a Security Officer to coordinate security functions, patrol the campus, respond to emergencies, and manage access control. You will document incidents, monitor GSOC and security systems, and support daily operations with strong communication.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; some college preferred.
• Illinois Driver's License and Illinois Firearms Owner's Identification Card.
• 4 years of security or related background; armed work preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication; proficiency with computers.
• State security training and required licensing must be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the campus to regulate traffic and ensure team member safety.
• Document events and investigations with clear, timely reports.
• Act as first responders to medical emergencies, fires, and evacuations.
• Monitor GSOC, intrusion alarms, and video systems; manage access logs.
• Issue temporary badges and coordinate deliveries from GSOC.
• Maintain licenses/certifications (PERC, FOID, FAC) and de-escalate threats.
