Job summary

The Hawaii State Department of Education is seeking a School Security Attendant I SR-07 to supervise campus security and maintain safe school grounds. The role involves patrolling during classes, lunch, and events to deter disturbances and ensure orderly movement of people and traffic.

Responsibilities include observing student behavior, reporting concerns, and assisting staff during assemblies, dances, and athletic events.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and understand oral and written English.
• Follow oral and written instructions and perform simple arithmetic.
• General experience required; substitutions permitted as described.

Responsibilities

• Patrols school grounds to supervise campus activities.
• Observes and reports on unusual student behavior.
• Directs safe movement of pedestrians and vehicles on campus.
• Enforces school rules and monitors facilities for hazards.
• Assists administration during assemblies and events.
• Notifies administrators of critical situations requiring outside help.
