Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a Campus Retail Associate to deliver superior customer service and support store leaders in campus bookstore operations. You will greet customers, process transactions, stock shelves, and maintain a welcoming, organized environment.

The position is temporary (approximately 90 days) with flexible scheduling, including weekends as needed, and opportunities to develop retail skills and leadership potential.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Confident and comfortable engaging customers to deliver an elevated experience.
• Flexible availability throughout the academic year including peak periods.
• Basic math, keyboarding, and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments.
• Greet customers and focus on a positive experience during their visit.
• Support store operations including operating the cash register and ensuring fast, accurate transactions.
• Keep the store organized by shelving, arranging, cleaning, and tidying products or space.
• Temporary positions require availability for a 90‑day period with occasional weekends and varied shifts.
• Routine housekeeping such as dusting, mopping, windows, vacuuming, and trash removal.
