Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a Campus Retail Associate to provide superior customer service and support store leaders in daily operations. You will help ensure the store runs smoothly, process sales, greet customers, and keep displays tidy.

The role offers flexible scheduling, an employee discount on textbooks and course materials, and opportunities through our Management Development Program. Prior retail experience is a plus, but a positive attitude and teamwork matter most.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be at least 16 years old.
• Confident when engaging customers to deliver an elevated experience.
• Positive attitude with willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced team.
• Basic math, keyboarding and data entry skills.
• Flexible availability throughout the academic year including peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments.
• Greet customers and focus on a positive experience during their visit.
• Support store operations including operating equipment and cash register; ensure speed and accuracy.
• Keep the store looking fresh by shelving, arranging, cleaning, and organizing products.
• Temporary positions require weekly availability for up to 90 days, with occasional weekends and varied shifts.
• Routine housekeeping such as dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming and trash removal.
