Job summary

Barnes & Noble College is hiring a Campus Retail Associate to deliver outstanding customer service and support campus retail operations. You will greet customers, process sales, and help keep the store clean and organized on a dynamic college campus.

This temporary, 90-day position offers flexible scheduling, sick time accrual, and an employee discount program; opportunities exist in the Management Development Program to build skills and career growth.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Confident in engaging customers to deliver elevated experience.
• Positive attitude, eager to learn and excel in a fast-paced team.
• Basic math, keyboarding, and data entry skills.
• Flexible availability during the academic year, including peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments.
• Provide a friendly atmosphere by greeting customers and focusing on their positive experience throughout their visit.
• Take initiative to support store operations including operating equipment and cash register while ensuring speed of service and accurate transactions.
• Keep the store looking fresh by shelving, arranging, cleaning, and organizing products or space within the store.
• Temporary positions require availability to work on a weekly basis for a period of 90 days or less with occasional weekends, and flexibility in scheduling for opening, midday, or closing shifts.
• Routine housekeeping including, for example, dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming, trash removal.
