Job summary

Jamal's Chicken - UVA on the Charlottesville campus is seeking an Assistant General Manager for campus restaurant operations. The role runs roughly thirty-two weeks during the academic year, with an extended summer break before returning to campus operations.

You'll lead a front- and back-of-house team, oversee daily operations, and manage labor, food cost, and guest experience with a focus on hospitality and performance.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of restaurant management experience with increasing responsibility.
• At least 2 years leading supervisors or large hourly teams.
• Strong leadership, financial acumen, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Genuine commitment to hospitality and delivering an outstanding guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead your team by recruiting, hiring, training, coaching, and retaining staff.
• Direct daily operations, uphold food quality, cleanliness and safety, oversee inventory and vendor relations.
• Assist with labor management, food cost and controllable expenses, use data to drive results.
• Drive the guest experience and ensure brand standards are executed consistently.
