Job summary

NC State University in Raleigh, NC is seeking a UTS - Temporary Recycling Collections Operator to join the team for 24 months. The role handles bulk waste and electronics collections, recycling and reuse pickups, and event support across campus.

A valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required; duties include safety inspections and maintaining containers and equipment. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 40 hours weekly, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience with waste and recycling collections preferred.
• Ability to move and lift up to 50 pounds and operate vehicles safely.

Responsibilities

• Bulk Waste and Electronics Collections: scheduled route collections for ~180 sites/week, sorting into appropriate bins at Dearstyne Rolloff Site.
• Recycling and Reuse Collections: on-demand pickups for campus customers, including confidential recycling and campus moves.
• Events and Projects: support waste/recycling/compost services for campus events and residence hall move-ins/move-outs.
• Repair, Maintenance, Safety: inspect and maintain containers/equipment and follow safety regulations.
