Job summary

NC State University in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Solid Waste & Recycling Collections CDL Driver to operate front-end loading trucks across campus, ensuring safe and efficient service. You will join a skilled team, transporting materials to disposal and recycling facilities while supporting sustainability goals.

The role requires a valid CDL (Class A or B), ability to meet DOT regulations, and a commitment to safety. You may work rotating schedules with overtime and shift premiums as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) and the ability to maintain it.
• Experience operating commercial collection vehicles or heavy equipment preferred.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations, safe driving practices, and vehicle inspection procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate front-end loading collection trucks to service campus dumpsters.
• Complete assigned collection routes, servicing ~50 locations daily.
• Transport materials to disposal, recycling, or compost facilities.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and document results.
• Maintain equipment and assist with basic maintenance tasks.
