What you will do:
- Create and design group fitness classes and events.
- Hire, train and supervise student worker staff.
- Manage scheduling and coaching student worker staff.
- Track participation data with fitness programs and events.
- Mange inventory, purchasing and repairs of equipment and supplies needed for fitness programs and events Manage assigned budget and provide request for annual budget needs.
- Collaborate with Campus Rec facility staff to coordinate fitness class schedules and operations.
- Help provide good communication to student participants about fitness programming.
- Schedule and create monthly campus fitness events.
- Collaborate with other departments on health and wellness events.
- Get student feedback to keep programming innovative for our campus needs.
- All other duties as assigned
What you will need:
- Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, health and wellness, Sports Management or related discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
- 2 or more years related work experience in the Fitness industry or other closely related field.
- Personal Training Certification or Group Fitness Certification preferred.
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Experience in successfully leading a team of students
- Ability to develop effective relationships with students/individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Experience in communications and collaboration with a diverse campus population
- Good conflict resolution/mediation skills
