ESU Campus Rec & Wellness Recreation Center Attendant 2026 to 2027
The Recreation Attendant will perform general duties as wellas membership service desk and/or the fitness center duties. The position will report to the FacilityManager (shift supervisor).
Responsibilities:
- Implement facility rules andregulations in all areas of the Mattioli Recreation Center and RecB.
- Ensurethe cleanliness and maintenance of the facility and machines.
- PromoteCampus Rec & Wellness programs.
- Answerphone calls in a friendly and professional manner, transfer calls and takemessages as required.
- Provide prompt,friendly, and professional answers to questions posed by our customers.
- Findcoverage for any assigned shift that you may not be able to work.
- Providefirst aid when necessary.
- Abilityto learn how to set-up and break-down of equipment used in the RecreationCenter.
- Mustbe available for morning, late night, and weekend shifts including breaks andholidays.
- Wear appropriate attire (including staffshirts) for all shifts.
- Fulfillother duties as assigned by the Facility Manager, Graduate Assistant, AssistantDirector of Campus Rec & Wellness, Director of Campus Rec & Wellness, orthe Executive Director of the Student Activity Association, Inc.
Service Desk responsibilities:
- Follow the equipment check-out/return policy
- Oversee all reservations and drop-in play
- Provide facility tours for new users
- Assist with membership questions, money collection ortransactions.
FitnessCenter responsibilities:
- Provide a spot for persons lifting when necessary
- Ensure members are re-racking weights and wiping downmachines
- Keep the Fitness Center's equipment and accessoriesneat, organized, and clean
- Perform daily and monthly cleaning duties of allequipment
Qualifications:
- First Aid, CPRand AED certifications.
- Be in goodstanding according to ESU's Student Code of Conduct.
- Enrolled as anESU student.
- Required tocomplete the mandatory Title IX, Cleary Act, and Pennsylvania MinorsClearances as well as background checks and fingerprints prior tobeginning.'
Preferred Qualifications:
- Dependableand punctual.
- Abilityto work with people and follow directions.
- Mayrequire heavy lifting (of over 50lbs) and climbing ladders.
- Must bewilling to perform custodial/maintenance duties.
Additional Information:
- ESURecreation Attendants are paid $10.00 an hour, for between 8-15 hours per week.
- Evaluationswill be completed with end of semester review through one-on-one discussions.
- Role will start August 2026 with the potential to start before based on need.
