Job summary

University of California, Irvine is seeking a Public Safety Supervisor to oversee the safety of the UC Irvine population, property, and assets. You will supervise PSO and PSA personnel and coordinate security operations under the UC Irvine Police Department.

The role requires leadership, regulatory knowledge, and strong customer service skills, with prior hospital security supervisory experience and bilingual ability being advantageous.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of regulations regarding hazardous materials, fire codes, building codes, and safety requirements.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in mentoring and advising employees.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong organizational skills for coordinating staff schedules and unit operations.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Experience with supervision in a university or hospital setting helpful.

Responsibilities

• Supervise public safety officers and ambassadors on assigned shifts.
• Monitor security operations and direct responses to incidents.
• Support department goals and ensure compliance with policies.
