Job summary

St. Catherine University is seeking a Public Safety Officer to join the Public Safety Department. This full-time, hourly position supports students, employees, and visitors by maintaining a safe campus through patrolling, responding to incidents, and enforcing safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 months experience in customer service, community engagement or volunteer work.
• Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse cultures on campus.
• Commitment to safety and security of the campus community.

Responsibilities

• Respond respectfully and effectively to people of all cultures, affirming dignity of individuals.
• Provide effective response, investigation, and documentation of incidents and emergencies.
• Patrol buildings and grounds across shifts.
• Lock and unlock buildings according to schedules.
• Respond to calls for assistance and provide escort services.
• Enforce parking regulations.
• Act as dispatcher and monitor responses.
• Conduct routine safety inspections using OSHA and other guidelines.
