Job summary

The University of Missouri System MU Counseling Center seeks a Psychologist to promote student well-being through high-quality clinical services and proactive outreach. The role requires collaboration with mental health providers, medical staff, and health promotion teams to address a broad range of concerns, including addictions.

The successful candidate will conduct evaluations, deliver brief therapies, participate in crisis response, supervise trainees, and develop prevention programs.

Qualifications

• Doctorate in Psychology and Missouri psychology licensure or eligibility.
• Experience in college counseling center preferred (incl. practica/internship/post-doc).
• Experience with substance use/addictions including sports betting/gambling.
• Must obtain licensure to practice independently within 18 months if joining pre-doctoral internship.

Responsibilities

• Complete initial evaluations and determine treatment recommendations.
• Provide brief therapy, group therapy, and time-limited workshops for diverse concerns including addictions.
• Offer crisis and consultation services during business hours as part of a crisis team.
• Design and implement outreach and prevention programs for students and campus community.
• Supervise post-doctoral residents, doctoral interns, and trainees as allowed by licensure.
• Collaborate with Health Educators on substance use/abuse programming.
• Contribute to MU Counseling Center goals, policies, and committees.
