Job summary

The University of South Carolina on the Columbia campus is seeking a Postal Courier Retail Clerk/Passport Agent to provide postage stamp sales, shipping services, and passport acceptance at Customer Retail Counters. You will unload inbound mail, use tracking systems, and process outbound mail with postage meters and accounting software.

As a USC Passport Acceptance Agent, you will undergo training and recertification as required.

Qualifications

Two (2) years' work experience and knowledge in postal courier, postal delivery and mail processing/shipping operations.
Knowledge of USPS guidelines and regulations and experience in postal related operations.

Responsibilities

Provide postage stamp sales and shipping services at Customer Retail Counters on the Columbia campus using point of sale and USPS RSS system.
Perform passport application acceptance and photo services in accordance with U.S. Dept. of State policies; obtain and maintain Passport Agent recertification.
Unload and sort inbound mail/parcels for data entry in a computerized tracking system for campus dispatch and delivery to Student Package Pickup locations and departments.
Process official University outbound mail and parcels using postage metering equipment and accounting software.
Work in a fast-paced environment; multi-task to meet daily mail deadlines; lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
Maintain pleasant communication with the University community and the public.
