Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent plus 30 college hours or two years military service.
• Must complete TCOLE Basic Law Enforcement course within one year.
• Current Texas driver’s license required.
• Psychological and medical testing will be conducted as a condition of employment.
• Willing to work varying shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Subject to criminal background and fingerprint checks.
• Bilingual or multilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus on foot or in a vehicle to respond to calls and investigate disturbances or potential criminal activity.
• Prepare files and records for investigations and testify in court when applicable.
• Plan and organize daily work routine and set priorities for tasks.
• Develop and maintain relationships with students, faculty, staff and stakeholders within the Dallas College network.
• Collect evidence and write preliminary reports; assist with further reporting as needed.
• Interact with the public with courtesy and tact; demonstrate ethical conduct at all times.
• Maintain high standards of ethics and confidentiality in all duties.
