Job summary

Qualifications

• Be at least 19.5 years old and under 45 at exam date.
• No felony or recent class B misdemeanors.
• Valid Texas driver's license and good driving record.
• Meet one of the listed qualification options in the minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Attend 32-week Basic Training Course at Dallas Police Academy.
• Complete TCOLE Basic Peace Officer licensing after initial training.
• Undergo Dallas PD-specific training on city ordinances and real-life duties.
• Perform other related duties and maintain regular, punctual attendance.
