Job summary

Dallas College seeks a Security Officer to protect campuses and serve the college community. You will patrol facilities, respond to incidents, and support safety for students, staff, and visitors.

This on-site, 40-hour-per-week role requires vigilance, sound judgment, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. A Texas Peace Officer license and valid driver’s license are required; CPR/AED certification is preferred where applicable.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Texas Peace Officer license and driver’s license required.
• Psychological testing and medical clearance may be conducted as a condition of employment.
• Shifts include nights, weekends, and holidays; official transcripts and licenses will be required.

Responsibilities

• Patrols college facilities and property on foot, bicycle and by motor vehicle; secure doors, gates, and entrances.
• Responds to calls and incidents and assists students, faculty, staff and the public.
• Open and secure campus grounds; set alarms and surveillance systems.
• Prepare incident reports and testify in court as necessary.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and campus community; maintain records and reports.
