Job summary

Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) seeks a College Police Officer to protect life and property on Arnold/Main Campus. The role includes patrols, investigations, reports, arrests, and emergency response, with a focus on community policing and safety.

Candidates must meet Maryland Police Training Commission certification, have a high school diploma or GED, and pass extensive background checks and exams. The position is full-time, in-person, 40 hours per week, with a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Must pass an oral interview and polygraph.
• Extensive background investigation and drug screen.
• Must possess valid Maryland Driver's License and safe driving record.
• Proficiency with handgun, handcuffs, OC spray, baton and related gear.
• Experience in criminal and traffic investigations.

Responsibilities

• Protect life and property on campus and surrounding areas.
• Perform vehicle and foot patrols of campus properties.
• Conduct criminal and traffic investigations and write reports.
• Interview suspects, collect evidence, and testify in court.
• Maintain security and enforce laws and college policies.
• Provide first aid and emergency care when needed.
• Direct and supervise staff as Officer in Charge when required.
