Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of law enforcement practices with experience or training as Police Officers.
• Ability to conduct basic and advanced criminal investigations, including interviewing, documentation, and case follow-up.
• Competence in handling and preserving evidence, including chain-of-custody procedures, and report writing related to evidence.
• Understanding of applicable laws, regulations, and law enforcement standards relevant to campus policing and public safety.
• Completion of an accredited law enforcement academy and eligibility to be certified as a peace officer in Arizona (or ability to obtain certification per state requirements).
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, de-escalate conflicts, and interact respectfully with diverse populations in an educational setting.
• Physical fitness and ability to meet job-related physical demands, including responding to emergencies, conducting foot patrols, and operating police vehicles and equipment.
• Strong ethical standards, sound judgment, and commitment to community-oriented policing and student-centered service.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus grounds to deter crime and ensure safety across multiple campuses.
• Respond to calls for service and incidents, coordinating with local law enforcement and emergency responders.
• Enforce local, state, and federal laws and college policies, and prepare clear incident reports.
• Collaborate with students, employees, and visitors to promote safety and a trust-based campus environment.
• Participate in safety education, emergency preparedness activities, and crime-prevention programs.
