Job summary

UNC Health Care is seeking a Police Officer for the UNC Hospital campus to ensure safety for patients, staff, visitors, and property. The role involves patrolling campus, responding to emergencies, and enforcing hospital policies to maintain a secure healthcare environment.

Responsibilities include emergency response, conflict resolution, investigations, and community policing. The officer will document incidents, conduct risk assessments, and coordinate with outside agencies as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience as a certified Law Enforcement Officer.
• Valid North Carolina Driver's license and NC CJETSC certification.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies and activate security protocols as part of the Emergency Response Team.
• Mediation and de-escalation of conflicts with patients, visitors, staff.
• Patrol hospital campuses and investigate violations under hospital policies.
• Prepare incident reports and manage evidence and custody of found property.
• Escort employees and visitors and control traffic and access to secure areas.
