Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a dedicated law enforcement professional to protect patients, staff and visitors across UNC Hospitals. You will supervise a squad, patrol campus locations, investigate incidents, and coordinate training for officers to ensure safety and compliance with laws and hospital policies.

Qualifications

  • Requires three (3) years of progressive law enforcement experience, with preference for university campus or healthcare setting.
  • Certification as a Law Enforcement Officer per NC CJSTC; Valid NC Driver’s License.
  • Must meet physical and psychological requirements including exams and drug test.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and apply UNC regulations, local, state and federal laws.

Responsibilities

  • Provides first-line supervision of a squad or unit.
  • Lead patrols of UNC Hospitals properties and respond to incidents.
  • Investigate violations of state laws and ordinances; prepare reports and court documents.
  • Coordinate training and in-service programs; serve as FTO for new officers.
  • Develop and implement patrol strategies to reduce crime and enhance safety.
