Job summary

National Police seeks a Dispatcher II for its University Police Department. This entry-level, non-sworn, uniformed role supports the Police Communication Center, handling CAD, radio, and information flow for police, fire, and medical calls.

Under supervision, you will document actions, prioritize alerts, coordinate with campus and external agencies, and maintain records of incidents. Strong typing, English communication, and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Knowledge of geographical directions (north, south, east, west).
• Typing/keyboard skills.
• Computer skills including handling multiple monitoring systems.
• Ability to read and speak clear English.

Responsibilities

• Receives, prioritizes, transmits and documents first notification of campus calls for service.
• Dispatches Police, EHS, EMS to incidents via radio and CAD.
• Enters data into CJIS/NCIC and related systems.
• Disseminates information to department personnel and external agencies.
• Maintains records and logs of messages and contacts.
• Responds to requests for information from the public and other agencies.
• Trains others on department systems.
