Job summary

Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY seeks a Plumbing Mechanic to repair, maintain and install plumbing fixtures, piping and equipment. The role requires several years in the trade, familiarity with steam/hot water systems, and the ability to work emergency repairs as needed.

The successful candidate will use hand tools, follow plumbing codes, and assist other trades as required. Benefits are provided under Le Moyne’s plan.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of five years full-time experience in the Plumbing trade with apprenticeship training or equivalent on the job training required.
• Experience with steam, hot water and chilled water systems required.
• Provides own hand tools and knows materials, methods and hazards of trade.
• Must possess a valid NYS Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, adjust, service and maintain plumbing drains, water and gas lines, fixtures and equipment.
• Inspect plumbing systems and perform routine maintenance and repairs.
• Replace defective pipe by cutting, bending, soldering and threading.
• Open clogged drains with a plumber’s snake or equivalent tools.
• Repair or replace damaged plumbing fixtures and connect to supply and waste pipes.
