Job summary

Sacramento State is seeking a qualified Plumber to perform journey-level plumbing work across campus facilities. Under supervision, you will install, maintain, inspect, and repair domestic water, sewer, gas, and related systems, while adhering to safety codes and producing maintenance records.

The position is an emergency, temporary role lasting up to 90 days, with a possible extension to 180 days, generally 7:30 AM–4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. A California Driver’s License is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to climb ladders, work from lifts, crawl spaces, tunnels, rooftops, and confined spaces.
• Safely operate plumbing equipment, power tools, and service vehicles.
• Knowledge of backflow prevention devices and cross-connection control.
• Experience with computerized work order systems and basic record-keeping.
• Valid California Driver's License and ability to maintain safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, modify, and replace campus plumbing systems.
• Maintain domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, and related equipment.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Maintain maintenance records using the campus work order system.
