Job summary

The State of New Hampshire is seeking a SOCPF Patrol Sergeant (Campus Patrol Sergeant) to supervise and coordinate police coverage at the Governor Hugh J. Gallen State Office Park South, with emphasis on New Hampshire Hospital.

The role leads unit activities, directs patrol operations, and supports supervisory officers in commanding the SOCPF. Qualified candidates hold an associate's degree with 3 years of experience or an equivalent mix of education and work history, and must have a full-time

Qualifications

• Education/experience: Associate's degree and 3 years of experience OR equivalent combination of 5 years of education and experience after high school.
• At least 3 years must be as a certified police officer (full-time).
• License: Valid driver's license and full-time police officer certification.
• Medical, physical agility, background and drug testing requirements are specified in postings.

Responsibilities

• Plans, assigns, and supervises unit activities to ensure security for state property and campuses.
• Oversees operations of the campus police force and trains subordinate officers in laws, regulations, and safety procedures.
• Appears in court as a witness and handles investigations, warrants, and case reviews as required.
• Enforces parking and traffic regulations, conducts traffic stops, and initiates enforcement actions as needed.
• Maintains records and reports for accountability and future reference.
