Job summary

Utah Valley University is seeking a Parking Enforcement Officer (Ticket Writer) to patrol campus and enforce parking regulations by issuing citations to vehicles in violation. The role includes operating mobile computing equipment, communicating on two-way radios, assisting with traffic and pedestrian control, and supporting campus police during events.

Must be a current UVU student and have a valid driver’s license; strong customer service is essential.

Qualifications

Must be a current UVU student.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Knowledge of customer service.
Knowledge of working within a team oriented cooperative environment.
Knowledge of basic computers.
Knowledge of campus parking lots, roads and location of buildings.
Knowledge and/or interest in campus events and activities.
Skills in customer service, teamwork, and creative problem solving.

Responsibilities

Patrol assigned areas of the university to enforce parking regulations by issuing citations.
Operate mobile computer equipment with printers.
Communicate with two-way radios using 10 codes.
Place tire immobilizers on vehicles.
Respond to motor assist calls.
Help with traffic and pedestrian control.
Assist with accidents or other requests by campus police.
Work during special events such as UVU graduations.
Collect money from pay stations.
Check the daily condition of enforcement vehicles by performing routine daily inspections/maintenance.
Wear issued uniform and be able to answer questions about parking regulations and campus locations.
Employees may be directed to perform job-related tasks other than those described.
