Job summary

The University of New Mexico's Political Science Department seeks an enthusiastic Undergraduate Student Ambassador to support outreach, communications, and engagement with students, alumni, and the university community. You will help promote academic and professional opportunities and contribute to the department's social media presence.

This in-person role offers hands-on experience in communications, public engagement, and outreach, working with faculty and staff to strengthen connections

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at UNM.
• A strong written and verbal communicator.
• Able to work in-person in the Political Science Department.

Responsibilities

• Creating engaging content for departmental social media channels.
• Helping maintain a consistent and active social media presence for the department.
• Assisting with outreach to current students.
• Supporting recruitment and outreach efforts for prospective students.
• Serving as a student representative of the department.
• Assisting with alumni engagement efforts.
• Helping develop student- and alumni-focused communications.
• Providing general support for special projects related to student engagement, outreach, and departmental visibility.
• Helping promote opportunities and resources for students.
