Job summary

Elmira College in Elmira, NY seeks a Director of Campus Operations to lead facilities, IT infrastructure, safety systems, and administrative services. This full-time exempt role reports to the Vice President of Finance and Administration and oversees buildings, grounds, campus security, and external event operations.

The position requires five years in operations or facilities management, a bachelor's degree or equivalent, and proven supervisory ability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience in business, facilities, or IT operations.
• At least five years of progressively responsible work experience in operations or facilities management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to coordinate a large number of diverse departments and prioritize tasks and projects for the maintenance and operation of the campus infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience serving at a supervisory or managerial level.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership and strategic direction for facilities, maintenance, and custodial services.
• Supervises the IT support services director(s) and prioritizes service delivery.
• Develops and administers policies for external event reservations, vehicle usage, the campus store, and all retail operations.
• Oversees contracts for campus operations vendors, including college food services and catering; reviews COI and indemnification.
• Coordinates with Campus Safety and Security for emergency or crisis response in collaboration with the Campus Safety Committee.
