Job summary

The Nutrition Education Coordinator at University of Georgia supports the University's health promotion, prevention, and well‑being initiatives as part of a collaborative Health Promotion team between Dining Services and the University Health Center.

This role develops, implements, and evaluates evidence‑informed nutrition education and wellness programming that contributes to a comprehensive prevention, early intervention, and student well‑being strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent.
• Master's degree preferred in Nutrition, Kinesiology, Health Education, or related discipline.
• Two or more years of professional experience in health education, nutrition programming, wellness promotion, or related student well-being initiatives preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate evidence‑informed, population‑based wellness interventions focused on nutrition education, healthy behaviors, and student well‑being.
• Facilitate educational workshops and presentations for academic classes, residence halls, student organizations, and campus groups upon request.
• Coordinate and facilitate cooking classes, demonstrations, and experiential learning opportunities within the UHC Nutrition Teaching Kitchen.
• Serve as co‑advisor and instructor for the FDNS 5800 Peer Nutrition Educators course.
• Develop innovative programming strategies and expand initiatives that promote a healthy, inclusive campus culture.
• Coordinate nutrition‑related programming and outreach initiatives with campus partners.
• Develop and implement creative health promotion messaging and outreach campaigns that encourage positive health behaviors.
• Co‑facilitate interdisciplinary wellness programming initiatives in collaboration with CAPS and Fontaine Center staff.
• Collaborate with faculty and academic departments to support internship and experiential learning opportunities for students.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and research to enhance effectiveness in supporting diverse student populations.
• Collaborate with Health Promotion, CAPS, and Fontaine Center staff on departmental initiatives and special projects.
• Partner with peer institutions to identify and share best practices in collegiate health promotion and nutrition education.
• Supervise undergraduate and graduate interns involved in community well‑being and nutrition education programs.
