Job summary

California State University, Dominguez Hills is seeking a Network and Communication Analyst III to support the campus Network Control Center. You will plan, design, and install LAN/WAN/VOIP networks and serve as the sysadmin for Alcatel Lucent switches, routers, Palo Alto Firewalls, Aruba wireless systems, and VOIP equipment.

The role requires supervising network security processes, maintaining asset inventories, and staying current with networking technology and trends.

Qualifications

Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in a related field and four years of relevant experience.
Advanced degree may be substituted for required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Relevant experience installing, supporting, and maintaining campus networking equipment and VOIP systems.

Responsibilities

Supports IT infrastructure and day-to-day campus network operations.
Participates in infrastructure cabling system development across campus.
Resolves helpdesk tickets related to network issues and access controls.
Maintains and analyzes results from firewalls, IDS/IPS, network mapping, and enterprise tools.
Applies patches to switches and firewalls and ensures timely problem resolution.
