Job summary

Related Companies’ Hudson Yards Infrastructure & Operations team seeks a Network Engineer I to install, troubleshoot, and maintain the campus‑wide Cisco network, covering wired, wireless, and converged systems.

The role supports HVAC, access control, life safety, and IoT devices, while collaborating with internal teams, vendors, and system integrators to ensure reliability and security of critical services.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in a Cisco environment.
• Intermediate knowledge of switching, routing, and wireless technologies (Cisco).
• Working knowledge of MPLS, VRF, and VPC.
• Knowledge of VoIP/QoS design and deployment.
• Intermediate knowledge of Layer 1 infrastructure (fiber, copper, RF).
• Experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 network infrastructure and best practices.
• Knowledge of network cybersecurity best practices for firewalls, ACLs.
• Proven ability to work with team members and stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and support Cisco enterprise network equipment.
• Monitor network availability, performance, and capacity; troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Support Layer 1–3 infrastructure including VLANs, IP addressing, DHCP/DNS, and spanning tree.
• Support wireless and network connectivity for building systems (HVAC, access, cameras).
• Assist with firewall configurations, ACLs, network segmentation, and VPNs with Cybersecurity.
• Maintain accurate network diagrams and configuration records.
• Support upgrades, migrations, and modernization projects with vendors.
• Communicate incidents and maintenance clearly to stakeholders.
