Job summary

University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join the Facilities Services team in Austin, TX. This role performs preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on building systems and components to support campus operations.

The successful candidate will have at least two years of maintenance or construction trade experience, a high school diploma or GED, and strong communication skills. The position offers standard UT benefits and a 40-hour week.

Qualifications

• Two years of maintenance or construction trade experience.
• Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs of mechanical systems including pumps, fans, and compressors.
• Acquires parts and maintains stock of materials.
• Assists electricians, plumbers, and others to meet goals.
• Reads blueprints and follows specifications; documents work orders.
• Supports on-call rotation and may work overtime.
