Job summary

Florida Institute of Technology is seeking a Facilities General Maintenance Technician to perform both skilled and unskilled maintenance and repairs across university buildings and equipment in Melbourne, FL. The role involves following ticketed work orders, documenting tasks, and collaborating with supervisor on daily priorities.

The position requires flexibility, adherence to safety directives, and willingness to participate in on-call shifts and occasional overtime to support campus

Qualifications

• General maintenance experience across buildings and equipment.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and use a ticketing system.
• Willingness to participate in on-call program and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of general skilled and unskilled maintenance, construction, and repairs on buildings and equipment.
• Answer service tickets as assigned, work from written and oral instructions.
• Utilize the service ticket system on the iPad to track tasks and document completed work.
• Work independently on assigned tasks or assist other trades as directed.
• Comply with safety directives, complete directed training, and use tools in a safe manner.
• Participate in the Facilities on-call program.
• Emergency preparedness and support as directed. Additional duties as assigned.
