Job summary

Florida Institute of Technology is seeking an Electrician to perform skilled electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair across the university’s facilities, ensuring systems operate safely, reliably, and in compliance with applicable codes.

Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance, responding to service requests and emergencies, and supporting electrical projects, renovations, and campus improvements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain lighting and security lighting on campus.
• Repair electrical equipment on main campus and at remote sites.
• Complete scheduled preventative maintenance.
• Complete daily service request as assigned.
• Installation of new electrical equipment, ballasts, fixtures, and lamps.
• Carry a rotating cellphone for after-hours emergency calls – may be required to work evenings and weekends in an emergency.
• Emergency preparedness and support as directed. Additional duties as assigned.
