Job summary

The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg is seeking a General Maintenance Repairman to perform maintenance in residence halls, sorority and fraternity houses, and Cedarbrook II apartments within Housing and Residence Life.

You will replace tiles, paint, repair plumbing and electrical fixtures, install accessories, operate hand and power tools, and support after-hours on-call needs; a high school diploma and MS driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and one year related experience.
• Mississippi Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Replaces damaged ceiling tile and floor tile; paints and patches walls, ceilings, and doors.
• Repairs drains, lavatories, fixtures and pipes; installs bathroom accessories.
• Repairs wiring, switches, outlets, lights; supports HVAC maintenance.
• Performs general maintenance and after-hours on-call duties as needed.
• Repairs or replaces doors, door closures, and door locks.
• Assists in moves and setup of furniture; other duties as assigned.
