Job summary

The University of Scranton is seeking a General Mechanic to perform diverse facilities maintenance tasks on campus and off campus as assigned. The role includes minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and snow removal work, with an early start during winter weather.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor repairs and/or replacement of plumbing fixtures, valves and devices as required.
• Perform minor repairs and/or replacements of electrical fixtures, devices and appliances as required.
• Perform minor carpentry work to repair windows, doors, hardware, screens and furniture.
• Assist with snow plowing, ice removal, salting and clearing the areas of snow as needed.
• Remove trash from university residential halls and student apartments, including weekends.
• Assist with first-year student move-in day activities and commencement setup.
