Job summary

Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, IL is seeking a Building Care Specialist to join the Campus Operations team at the Southwest Education Center. The role covers grounds care, cleaning, and general facility support to keep the campus safe and welcoming.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years experience in related field.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain campus grounds through mowing, trimming, and edging.
• Clear sidewalks and walkways of snow and ice; load and distribute salt bags; assist with parking lot plowing as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks: replace bulbs, install ceiling tiles, change filters, and replace damaged floor tiles; report issues.
• Prepare campus facilities for events: set up tables and chairs, place trash receptacles, post signage; maintain event areas.
• Perform routine and detailed cleaning of facilities: disinfect restrooms, restock supplies, sweep, mop, vacuum, sanitize high-touch surfaces, empty trash/recycling.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Campus Operations or Building Maintenance Supervisor.
