Job summary

Montana State University Facilities Services is seeking a Laborer to support maintenance and construction of university buildings, grounds, and utilities under the Campus Maintenance Manager. The role involves assisting trades, operating equipment, and helping with renovations and repairs across campus.

A high school diploma and experience in general construction are required, with preferred heavy equipment operation and asbestos/mold awareness.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience in general construction labor and facility maintenance.
Experience operating heavy equipment (forklifts, trucks, bucket trucks).
Experience using construction hand tools and power tools.
Strong customer service in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

Support trades by delivering supplies and assisting with site prep.
Perform skilled tasks in masonry, asbestos abatement, demolition, and more.
Operate equipment like bucket trucks, forklifts, loaders, and snow removal gear.
Inspect and perform preventative maintenance on roofs and drainage.
Follow safety and removal procedures for asbestos or mold.
Support large campus events.
